back to university

Just like that another month has gone by, this time I really want to start blogging more often and being at university I think I'll have more time in my day to do so. So last week I moved back to the good old city and am now living in a house! Eeee - even saying that makes me feel rather old.. I don't really have much to write about, probably just complain about how much money I've already spent considering I'm meant to be on a budget this year and possibly post a few photos of what I've been up to this past week..

(new winter boots, fake orchid because my real one didn't survive, corkboards, new bed, Lana Del Ray top, night out on the town..)

Also just thought I'd mention how much I love the new Mumford and Sons album and this particular song:

Peace out! xo

a month later..

I have been super busy over the last month, I had my nineteenth birthday (which wasn't all that exciting -  I guess that happens the older you get), I started working again just to earn some funds for uni, but in the process have been spending those funds on clothes, new uni stuff and just about every beauty product that catches my eye (this new addiction is dangerous for my bank balance!). I also (with the majority of the uk) watched ALOT of Olympics, which I enjoyed so much more than I thought I would've - the highlight of course was watching The Spice Girls and Borris' dancing that accompanied the performance! I also got back into reading, I whipped out the old kindle and read both the Carrie Diaries book (lame I know - but so addictive) I've just downloaded Nick and Norah's infinite playlist aswell, so I'm going to start reading that soon. Then generally I've just been doing the usual like seeing friends and family, spending my sundays lazing around watching films and tv and visiting the cinema alot!

(just a small selection at my latest purchases!)

But I think what I've been up to the past day or so probably makes for the more exciting blog post, and even this is dull! So last night I went out for dinner with my mum after work, we went to this newly renovated pub along the quay and it was lovely, I was super full once we had ate though! Then we walked over to the cinema and watched Brave, I loved it so so much! There is something about the new Disney princesses which is so cool, I mean I love Belle and Cinderella as much as any 90's kid but Merida is pretty awesome, and the soundtrack for the film was so good!

(my new favourite film)

Then today I had a day off, so I've been lazing in bed all day and watching old episodes of Beaver Falls, and catching up on new Pretty Little Liars (I can't believe Toby is part of the 'A-Team'!?). Tonight I'm having a early night because I'm up for work at six in the morning! I haven't been up that early since school!

The only other thing I can think to write about is how much I'm loving music at the moment, especially Of Monsters & Men and Jessie Ware's new albums. My top five songs at the moment have to be:
1. Little Talks - Of Monsters & Men
2. Riot Van - Arctic Monkeys (an oldie but a goodie)
3. Swim Good - Frank Ocean (although every song by him a favourite of mine)
4. Cherry Wine - Nas ft. Amy Winehouse
5. Treatment - Labrinth

Well I think I have rambled on enough about everything, so I'm gonna say goodnight and get some sleep before my early start tomorrow! Booooooo xo

mini catch-up

So I've been super busy doing housework, posting parcels and baking (as usual) my mum has even started calling me her slave, which I find hilarious! But when I haven't been doing chores I've found time to order lots of nice new things, like my new korres lip butter, and finally got some bioderma to try!

Yesterday was pretty cool as well, the daytime went super busy and I don't even know what I have to show for those disappearing hours! But in the evening I met up with a few friends for Costa, then we preceded to show one of my friends uni friends round where we live, ending up at another cafe, where we had cookies and enjoyed the view (I sound so old!). It was a cute night - although I feel like I don't see my friends as much as I should, I think it's a combination of no money, and living in my own little world where I forget how quickly time goes, and it's been another week since I've seen them (sounds terrible, huh!). When I got home I lit my favourite candle and had a midnight movie viewing, with some yummy yummy popcorn. I watched LOL - that new Miley Cyrus movie, and I must admit I kinda enjoyed it, I do love a good cheesy film, and being able to look at Douglas Booth's face for an hour and a half was a bonus! I've decided he is the most perfect man alive and if I found someone like him I would be content with life!

(just a cheeky video of him - for those who don't know who he is!)

Anyway so tonight I'm off out again for a few drinks, and tomorrow my aunty comes over so I think we are seeing her, my mum and I might also squeeze in a house viewing (I really want to move at the moment for some reason! And the house is beaut!) and visit my favourite vegetarian/vegan restaurant for some lunch. Then Sunday I don't have much planned, probably just another lazy day!

Hope you have a lovely weekend like I plan to do! xo

Blogging hiatus

So I haven't been posting for a few days and it's felt a little bit weird!I haven't been blogging for a few reasons actually: one I completely forgot all of my log in details, and wasn't agreeing with technology on Monday to sort it out but also because; when I published my first ever post I was excited but last week when I was writing it felt less like me, I was just writing to write and I know that sounds ridiculous because I've had this blog for like two weeks?! But some of the posts just weren't exciting and I wouldn't read them myself so bear with me whilst I turn this into something I would want to read!

So here are few pictures to of my last few days including the best veggie food ever, my new sandals and some yummy flapjacky thingy I made yesterday

For now, au reviour! xo

weekend shenanigans

I didn't get up to much this weekend but what I did do was lovely! On friday mum returned home with a massive bagful of sweets, waffles, cheeses and chorizo from a market stall - all of it was lovely and I probably indulged too much! Then on saturday I lazed about all day catching up on T in the Park footage, then went out with a few friends in the evening - it was one of my first ever nights out sober and whilst drunk people can be annoying more than anything they are entertaining and I learnt that I could go out sober (if I ever wanted to..). Then sunday was spent watching the tennis and having a roast at my grandma's (once again eating too much food!).

Today I didn't manage to wake up until one o'clock, due to not being able to fall asleep the night before. I woke up all confused and too hot from this sudden appearance from the sunshine?! After having a coffee and waking up I had a little flick through company magazine (one of my favourite magazines-I love the design!) and made myself a raspberry smoothie. I also managed to compose a birthday list which consists of:

(all just clothes and make-up - I'm so boring with presents now!)

This evening I've been wrapping eBay parcels and eating even more! I plan on watching Eastenders later then having an early night (although we probably all know that won't happen!)

rain rain go away!

Suprise, I woke up this morning and it's still raining! Am I the only one who doesn't like doing anything when the weather is this bad? Mixed with a lack of funds = Kate staying home alllll week!

So today as much as I shouldn't admit this.. I re-installed Sims 3 on my macbook and plan on playing it all day (re-embracing my inner teenager), I may start listening to old school indie music and watching The O.C to take me fully back to when I was fourteen!

Having been cooped up inside all week I've had plenty of time to find new music so I thought I would share a few of my recent favourites with you guys:

Jessie Ware - Wildest Moments (what a great song! Sounds so good played loud)

Newton Faulkner - Clouds (he's playing at a mini festival this weekend at home and I don't have tickets and I'm extremely jealous of people going!)

Kanye West - Cold (everyone loves a bit of Weezy! And the fact he talks about his love for Kim..)

So for the rest of today I'll probably be in my room looking out at this b-e-a-u-t-ful weather! I haven't got much planned this weekend but hopefully I shall see a few friends, watch Spiderman and possibly go for cawfee etc with the moma.

Peace out! xo

wishlist

And so it's another day.. and the sun is finally shining, hooray!

Today I decided to dedicate the post to a wish-list of items that I really really want. No matter how many times I decide that I no longer need any more clothes, shops like Topshop and Zara go and release more beautiful items. The majority of these items are from Topshop; but the necklace from Miss Selfridge (I was in love with it from the moment I saw it!) and of course Laura Mercier.

Due to my lack of money at the moment I don't think I'll be getting any of these items soon - however it is my birthday in under a month so I may have to put these on my birthday list!

Not much else to say today: I think I'll spend the rest of the day in the sunshine possibly reading a book (ironically I completely neglected books in my first year at uni and am now raring to get back into the reading thang). I'm sure I'll keep you posted on what book I decided to read. Meanwhile I'll leave you with this picture of some lovely Orange and Carrot Muffins I made yesterday...

Wednesday 4 July 2012

Afternoon chaps. So after posting yesterday I was resisting the temptation to do another post that evening! Blogging is addictive to say the least.

So todays post is dedicated to my creativity; it's a few of my friends upcoming birthdays and due to my lack of income at the moment, homemade being way better and that I enjoy making stuff I decided to make their cards myself. I must admit I went a little bunting crazy but it's cute right?! I also plan on making them some cakes and other cute stuff nearer to the time.

I don't have much else planned today, probably just the continual look for a summer job and posting some parcels for eBay (if this horrific rain ever stops!). I also plan on try out my new Origins products - hopefully they can cure my terrible skin at the moment!

So off I go; I'll leave you with this new song by Of Monsters and Men; it's Fearne Cotton's big thing on Radio 1 this week and since the first play I am addicted to it!

first official blog post!

So here it is, my first official blog post. After admiring the like's of llymlrs, ringmybell, whatihearttoday and viviannadoesmakeup I decided to set up my own blog, where I could post a variety of what I do with my days, from what clothes I'm loving, to pretty pictures, to my latest baking successes (and sometimes failures) and my ever-growing love for beauty products. So if you are reading this - please bear with me whilst I get to grips of adding blogging into my daily routine!
